TARGIT delivered as a Boost mean that a single fraction of intra- or postoperative radiation in delivered with INTRABEAM.
The TARGIT trial is an international randomized clinical trial designed to test the hypothesis that the strategy of delivering a single dose of targeted intraoperative radiotherapy in women with early breast cancer is equivalent to a conventional course of post-operative external beam radiotherapy (EBRT).
INTRABEAM-enabled TARGeted Intraoperative radioTherapy (TARGIT) from Carl Zeiss provides a treatment approach physicians can use with standard or without whole breast radiotherapy to treat a broader range of patients with a more convenient radiation therapy option.
