Job Function

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for strategic planning, development, and management of marketing communications programs that promote the sale of Meditec products and services. Programs are developed and implemented to assist in achieving sales targets and attaining marketing objectives as identified by senior management, marketing management and the overall marketing plan. Consults with other areas of management or business units, sales departments and advertising agencies and media to effectively leverage online marketing, tradeshow participation and direct marketing. Accountable to producing projects within the overall marketing budget and implementing a means to measure results. Creates sales aids and direct marketing, develops advertising program and campaigns. Schedules and manages media placements and recommends the media best suited tomarket products. As the Marketing Communications Specialist you will help to support the expansion and growth of the Company’s sales by designing, creating and delivering marketing communications programs and advertising materials. Reporting to the VP, the Marketing Communications Specialist will use best practices in marketing, CE events and lead generation methods to drive revenue, enhance our brand communication and effectively represent our products, solutions and services to customers and prospects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the execution of sales meetings, industry events, trade shows and conferences
  • Develop and implement marketing communications plans and tactics for the division, working closely with local and global teams as necessary
  • Employ overall MED marketing strategy to develop and execute marketing communication plan
  • Develop, plan and execute lead generation and nurturing campaigns, programs and events
  • Write and develop campaigns, product messaging, customer responses and customer case studies showcasing end-user successes
  • Work with sales and product marketing teams to structure and leverage tools to build campaigns and programs to increase the sale of products, solutions and services
  • Optimize the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Enhance brand image ensuring brand communication follows corporate guidelines
  • Develop product and promotional messaging and content based on positioning, customer targets, and business objectives identified by Business Sectors and Global Marketing groups
  • Develop and coordinate Marcom plans and activities in support of the Meditec business and goals, includes sales collateral, budgets, schedules, presentations, advertising, emails, mailers, banners, landing pages, etc.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other groups, such as Sales and Service Center communication teams (SSC MarComm) as appropriate for the successful execution of Marcom activities
  • Negotiate competitive project bids and manage work with vendors ensuring timely deliverables
  • Evaluate creative and ensure consistent look, messaging and branding across marketing materials
  • Proactively suggest communication strategies and tactics that deliver against the objectives
  • Use best practices and knowledge to determine the right marketing vehicle and mix

  • University Degree in Marketing, Marketing Communications, Journalism or related discipline
  • Or 5 years of related Marketing Communications experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years demand generation and marketing experience, experience implementing “nurture” campaigns using a marketing automation tools an asset
  • Experience in new lead generation, install base marketing and database management (segmentation, reporting, maintenance, list acquisition, etc.)
  • Must have customer marketing experience managing KOLs and developing customers into case studies, press releases and customer references
  • Self-starter and proven marketing innovator with strong writing and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time to industry events
  • Must have excellent writing and editing experience, ability to write in French an asset
  • Must have excellent presentation and analytical skills, plus demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously and able to work independently on assigned projects
  • Proven ability to find solutions to a myriad of business issues and problems
  • Experienced with Adobe InDesign/Photoshop and creative suites office suite of computer software applications
